General Information

Legal Basis, Purpose

The legal basis for data processing is the legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR to ensure a comprehensive online presence and an optimized presentation of the company. The measurement of visitor behavior on some platforms serves to optimize the presentation and targeting of our online offerings as well as to facilitate effective communication with you.

The analysis processes on some platforms may be based on different legal grounds, which must be specified by the social network operators in their privacy policies (e.g., consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR).

Pursuant to Article 15 et seq. of the GDPR, you have the right to access personal data concerning you, to have it rectified or erased, to restrict processing, to object to processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. General Information

Current information about our company is posted on our Instagram or Facebook fan page, and users can comment on it and/or “like” it. Users can also post so-called visitor posts on our page. The comments, “likes,” and posts are publicly visible, and it is therefore publicly apparent who posted them. Users can also send us messages, though these are not publicly visible.

Facebook / Instagram Insights

Through “Insights,” we are able to access certain statistical, anonymized data on user behavior (https://www.facebook.com/help/instagram/788388387972460). The Insights data is generated and provided by Meta using cookies. We can only change the time period for which we wish to view the analysis. In addition, we can set specific settings for the target audience of our posts, which will be reflected in the statistics accordingly. We cannot disable the Insights feature. Meta uses the data primarily for advertising purposes (creating personalized ads), creating user profiles, and market research. If a visitor to the fan page has an Instagram or Facebook account and is logged in with that account while viewing the page, the information provided by the cookies is stored across devices. Meta shares data—without our ability to influence this—with, among others, Meta Platforms Inc., Meta’s U.S.-based parent company. This company is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and is therefore considered to be in compliance with data protection regulations under the GDPR. Details regarding Meta’s data processing can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

We use Insights data, as well as other available data, to optimize our content on our Facebook and Instagram pages and to interact with users. For example, we use information about visit times to schedule our posts at the most effective times. Information about the types of devices used helps us design our posts and other content so that they are displayed optimally on all types of devices. Based on the Facebook and Instagram Terms of Service, which every user has agreed to when setting up their profile, we can identify the page’s followers and fans and view their profiles as well as other information they have shared.

You may exercise your data subject rights with both us and Meta. Additional privacy information regarding Meta in accordance with Article 13 of the GDPR is available here: https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy
